Ghostery is a browser add-on for Firefox that enables you to see what kind of tracking techniques are used by the current website, including tags, web bugs, pixels and beacons. The program also comes with the option to block any of these elements, including advertising, cookies, analytic trackers, social widgets and more. You can choose which items to block and also add sites to a Whitelist to exclude them from getting blocked. Ghostery adds a new toolbar button to the browser toolbar that dynamically displays the number of tracking elements on the current pages, and shows detailed information for all trackers when you click on it. You can easily enable/disable any tracker with the click of a button. Also available for Internet Explorer as well as Opera, Chrome and Safari.
