You can destroy a brick only by clicking on it. Any time you destroy a brick, the adjacent bricks of exactly the same colour may also be destroyed. Then you can just destroy that single brick, if there are not any adjacent bricks of exactly the same colour and you will lose a star. You will no longer be able to get rid of the single bricks once you run out of stars. If there are simply single bricks left and you've used all your stars, then the game is over.
