Arena is an advanced software for playing or analyzing chess games and testing chess engines. The program is compatible with about 250 chess engines (the download includes SOS 5.1, AnMon 5.75, Hermann 2.6, Ruffian 1.05, Rybka 2.2 free, Spike 1.2 and several others), as well as Winboard and UCI protocols for online gaming. Other features include detailed technical information about each move (for really advanced users), support for Gaviota tablebases, print support, PNG export, customizable board colors, tournament mode and much more.
