Identify homologs of multigene modules in genomes
The Open Source MultiGeneBlast instrument can be used for identification of homologs of multigene modules (operons and gene clusters). MultiGeneBlast is based on reformatting FASTA headers of the protein entries in the NCBI GenBank database. MultiGeneBlast was developed in order to offer opportunities to identify all homologous genomic regions by combining the results of single BlastP runs on each gene, and sorting genomic regions from any GenBank entry by the number of hits, cumulative Blast bit score and synteny conservation.
